How Does Dabble Calculate Payouts When Picks Are Voided or Adjusted?

Understanding how payouts are calculated on Dabble is crucial for all users. Payout adjustments can occur under various scenarios, such as players being voided, picks being pushed, or under special conditions like correlated projections in your entry. Below, we’ll explain the mechanics of payout calculation, the rules governing different situations, and FAQs to address common concerns about reduced payouts.

Refer to our Game Rules page here for the list of all specific game rules.

General Rules for Payout Adjustments

Dabble adheres strictly to its General Game Rules and Terms & Conditions for all payouts. Important highlights include:

  • Voided Players: If a player in your entry is voided (withdraws before or doesn’t actively participate in a match), that pick is removed and the payout is recalculated based on the remaining valid selections. For example, a 12-pick entry with 2 voided players becomes a 10-pick entry.

  • Pushes: In cases of a push or tie (e.g., a player exactly matches their projected stat line), that pick is treated as active but non-contributory, maintaining the entry but reducing the number of active legs.

  • Refunds for Voided Entries: If a voided or reduced entry cannot meet the two-leg minimum of players, the entry is refunded. For instance, a 3-pick entry voided down to 1 player will not payout and will instead be refunded.

Impact of Entry Type: All-In vs Hedge Entries

All-In Entries

“All-In” entries require all picks to hit to generate a payout. Missing or voiding even one pick significantly impacts these entries:

  • Void Adjustments: If one or more picks are voided in an All-In entry, the payout scale is reduced to the new number of legs. For example, a 10-pick entry reduced to 9 legs will align with the 9-leg multiplier.

  • No Payout for Errors: If even 1 player loses their projection, no payout will be provided, irrespective of how many additional legs were marked as a winner

Hedged Entry

Hedge, on the other hand, provide lower payout multipliers, but you can still win even if one or two of your picks are incorrect.

  • Void Adjustments: If one or more picks are voided in a Hedged entry, the payout scale is reduced to the new number of legs, the same as for an All-In Entry. For example, a 10-pick entry reduced to 9 legs will align with the 9-leg multiplier.
